What’s new on the Laces Data Platform (May 2024)
- Updates
A new version of the Laces Data Platform was released 12th of May: version 12.3! This month, we’ve introduced three changes in the Laces Data Platform. Beyond constantly improving Laces in its functionality and scope, these three updates are based on user feedback. This time, we’ve been working on improving features like optimizing our signup procedure, updates to our Linked Data Viewer and ensuring a smooth and efficient data retrieval.

Update in signup procedure
Due to overwhelming requests, automatic sign-up for Laces Data platform is temporarily disabled. During this period, if you wish to create a new account, please reach out to us by sending an email to sign-up@laceshub.com with the following information: your full name, email address, and organization name. Our team will prioritize your request and promptly assist you in setting up your account.
Connect publications with Linked Data viewer
In case you have a Linked Data viewer configured for a publication, a link to the viewer can now be added in the metadata of publication details. This link will be shown in the Laces Hub, so users can browse directly to the viewer from the publication details.
Asynchronous endpoint for downloading publication data
We have addressed the issue about long waiting times for API calls to return when downloading large publications, especially when they result in request timeouts. To alleviate this issue, we’ve implemented asynchronous downloading for publications. Refer to our REST API references documentation for more details.
